MISSION:

     MBSAI:  Health & Safety Services staff members represent over thirty- five years of professional nursing care experience.  Our experience spans the spectrum of nursing roles, responsibilities, and disciplines.  MBSAI:  Health & Safety Services staff members have proven proficient as floor/ staff nurse, charge nurse, school nurse, mental health nurse, assistant Director of Nursing, Director of Nursing, and house supervisor.  Our nurses have experience in various settings including:  emergency department, medical/ surgical, oncology, telemetry, orthopedic, mental health, home health, long term acute care, and rehabilitation.

     At MBSAI: Health & Safety Services, we believe that healthy children are successful learners. Our position is that the registered professional school nurse has a multi- faceted role within the school setting. The nurse’s role supports the mental, physical, emotional, and social health of students and their success in the learning process. In addition, the school nurse serves as a liaison between school personnel, family, community, and health care providers to advocate for health care and a healthy school environment. To that end, we will facilitate normal development and positive student response to interventions; promote health and safety including a healthy environment; intervene in response to actual and potential health problems; provide case management services; and actively collaborate with others to build student and family capacity for adaptation, self- management, self advocacy, and learning. Our company specializes in providing customized evidenced based nursing services to schools.

     All services provided are delivered within the framework of the nursing process (assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, & evaluation).  Services provided encompass all practices defined by Louisiana Nurse Practice Acts and are delivered in accordance with the Standards of Professional Performance.  Service options can be developed and/ or modified to meet your school’s health and wellness needs.
